Grasshopper Sparrow Ammodramus savannarum (1)

1 Loxahatchee 26th - flushed when looking for Swamp Sparrows: this bird's tiny size and short tail stood out.

Cape Sable Seaside Sparrow Ammodramus maritimus mirabilis (2)

2 singing Everglades (about 1.3 miles south of the Mahogany Hammock turn) 24th.

Swamp Sparrow Melospiza georgiana (1)

Up to 3 flushed Loxahatchee 26th - flight views obtained when flushed were not sufficient to tick this new-for-me species but after several attempts one was eventually seen perched up briefly enabling the identification of at least that bird to be confirmed.

Summer Tanager Piranga rubra (4)

4 Dry Tortugas (Garden Key) 20th with 1 on 22nd.

Northern Cardinal Cardinalis cardinalis (100)

Very common just about everywhere (not seen on Dry Tortugas) and at first much time was wasted looking for the skulking source of ticking noises, only to eventually unearth a Cardinal. Having seen so many photos online of Cardinals at feeders I imagined this would be a more urban bird but in fact few were seen in urban environments, the majority being shy birds in rural situations.
