Stone-Curlew (Eurasian Thick-knee) Burhinus oedicnemus
A rare breeding bird in the UK, the majority of pairs being in the Brecks on the Norfolk/Suffolk border where Weeting Heath NWT reserve is the best-known site to see them. In autumn they congregate in large flocks (over 100 possible) before the majority head off south for the winter (with a few staying behind in recent years). The species is much commoner in southern Europe.
