Hudsonian Whimbrel Numenius (phaeopus) hudsonicus
This North American form is still treated by many authorites as a race of Whimbrel, but many now regard it as a distinct species Numenius hudsonicus.
This form is a very rare vagrant to Europe, not yet recorded in Norfolk. The following photos are taken from their normal range in North America.
