A very rare visitor to the UK although some individuals have stayed here for many months or even years. The species is prone to occasional influxes but in very recent years these have become a regular event and several flocks have made it to the UK. The greatest numbers have tended to be in the south-west but among the photos below are flocks of 3 and 4 birds that turned up here in Norfolk.
