Bateleur Terathopius ecaudatus
An African species that has recently appeared in Europe - a juvenile flew in from the sea in southern Spain on 5th April 2012. Apparently it was seen again in May and there is a previous record from Cyprus.
This species may also be found in captivity and birds may escape, so any records in Europe in less convincing circumstances are likely to be viewed with suspicion.
The following photos were all taken within their natural range in Africa.
